Esta intervención, en la plaza de armas de la Ciudad de Cerro de Pasco, constó de diferentes formas de inter-relacionarse con el espacio y las personas del lugar. Este es un contexto tan delicado, por tratarse de un espacio dañado por las consecuencias de la contaminación ambiental a causa de la minería, así como también en la salud mental de estas personas, ya que en la gran mayoría de la población adulta muestra una especie de resignación y desesperanza cuando hablan sobre el futuro de la ciudad y de sus propias vidas.

Antes de llegar a la ciudad de Cerro de Pasco, y revisé artículos, notas, en incluso conversé con un “especialista” en temas ambientales y comunidades . Todos lanzan la premisa que los cerreños deben de abandonar la ciudad. En un lógica de vertical, estos “especialistas” no contemplan las diferentes complejidades que esto implica, un claro ejemplo está en el tema de arraigamiento identitario e histórico. Sin contar también que es el mismo modelo económico, avalado por el gobierno, el sistema colonial extractivista los que exigen la existencia de la actividad minera siguiendo así una espiral sin fin de depredación ambiental y humana.

Diese Intervention auf dem Hauptplatz der Stadt Cerro de Pasco bestand aus verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, mit dem Raum und den Menschen des Ortes in Beziehung zu treten. Dies ist ein so heikler Kontext, weil es sich um einen Raum handelt, der durch die Folgen der Umweltverschmutzung durch den Bergbau geschädigt ist, aber auch in Bezug auf die psychische Gesundheit dieser Menschen, da die überwiegende Mehrheit der erwachsenen Bevölkerung eine Art Resignation und Hoffnungslosigkeit zeigt, wenn sie über die Zukunft der Stadt und ihr eigenes Leben spricht.

Bevor ich in der Stadt Cerro de Pasco ankam, habe ich Artikel und Unterlagen durchgesehen und sogar mit einem “Spezialisten” für Umweltfragen und Gemeinden gesprochen. Sie alle werfen die Prämisse auf, dass die Cerreños die Stadt verlassen mussen. In einer Logik der Vertikalen betrachten diese “Spezialisten” nicht die verschiedenen Komplexitäten, die dies impliziert, ein klares Beispiel ist in der Frage der Identität und historischen Verwurzelung. Ganz zu schweigen davon, dass es dasselbe Wirtschaftsmodell ist, das von der Regierung gebilligt wird, das koloniale extraktivistische System, das die Existenz von Bergbauaktivitäten fordert und damit einer endlosen Spirale von Umwelt- und Menschenzerstörung folgt.

This intervention, in the main square of the city of Cerro de Pasco, consisted of different ways of interrelating with the space and the people of the place. This is such a delicate context, as it is a space damaged by the consequences of environmental pollution caused by mining, as well as in the mental health of these people, as the vast majority of the adult population shows a kind of resignation and hopelessness when they talk about the future of the city and their own lives.

Before arriving in the city of Cerro de Pasco, I reviewed articles, notes, and even talked to a “specialist” in environmental issues and communities. All of them put forward the premise that the Cerreños should leave the city. In a vertical logic, these “specialists” do not contemplate the different complexities that this implies, a clear example is the issue of identity and historical roots. Not to mention that it is the same economic model, endorsed by the government, the colonial extractivist system that demands the existence of mining activity, thus following an endless spiral of environmental and human depredation.
